PVFCCo – Phu My and TGS Cooperate to Develop a Green Value Chain

    On April 23, 2025, at the headquarters of PetroVietnam Fertilizer and Chemicals Corporation (PVFCCo – Phu My), PVFCCo – Phu My and The Green Solutions Group (TGS) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on strategic cooperation.

    The event was attended by the leadership of both parties and leading international representatives from the technology and finance sectors in the field of green energy transition.

    Phu My will act as the offtake partner for green ammonia products produced by TGS at their Tra Vinh plant, serving environmentally friendly fertilizer and chemical manufacturing activities.

    This event marks a significant step forward in the strategic cooperation to develop a green ammonia value chain in Vietnam, demonstrating Phu My's strong commitment to sustainable energy transition in line with national resolutions and energy planning issued by the government.

    Mr. Luu Hoang Ngoc, Deputy Director of the Chemicals Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade), praised the pioneering efforts and clear strategic direction of the two entities in the field of green ammonia.

    At the same time, the deployment of green ammonia projects aligns with and supports the green transformation roadmap of the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (Petrovietnam), responding to global trends and enhancing sustainability across the energy-chemical industrial production chain.

    Under the MoU, Phu My will serve as the consumer of green ammonia produced by TGS in Tra Vinh for the manufacture of eco-friendly fertilizers and chemicals. In addition, both sides agreed to collaborate in exporting green hydrogen and green ammonia to international markets, contributing to the enhancement of competitiveness and value in Vietnam's green supply chain.

    Mr. Phan Cong Thanh, General Director of Phu My, expressed confidence that the signing of the MoU marks a promising beginning for a sustainable and successful partnership between Phu My and TGS.

    PVFCCo - Phu My is a pioneering and leading unit in Vietnam’s fertilizer production and business sector. With over two decades of formation and development, PVFCCo has continuously expanded its production capacity, diversified its product range, and accelerated its transformation growth model. In its new development strategy, PVFCCo is speeding up the implementation of its chemical segment - identified as the next growth pillar - aiming to fully leverage the integrated advantages of its production complex in Phu My Industrial Zone and efficiently develop the chemical–petrochemical value chain within the Petrovietnam ecosystem.     Furthermore, Phu My will also participate in the design, construction, and technical operation stages, provide personnel training resources, and explore investment opportunities in future expansion projects.

    As one of the largest ammonia producers in the country, Phu My expects to work closely with TGS to significantly expand its portfolio of green ammonia and green urea products.
