On the afternoon of April 1, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyễn Hoàng Long attended the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between John Cockerill Group and The Green Solutions Company.
As part of the State-level visit to Vietnam by a high-ranking delegation from the Kingdom of Belgium from March 30 to April 4, John Cockerill Group and The Green Solutions Company organized the signing of an MOU. The content of the memorandum involves selecting John Cockerill Group as the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) for alkaline electrolysis equipment, as well as the operation and maintenance of electrolysis equipment for the green hydrogen and ammonia production projects in Trà Vinh and Bến Tre provinces by The Green Solutions Company.
Attending the signing ceremony, on behalf of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, were Deputy Minister Nguyễn Hoàng Long; representatives from the Department of Oil, Gas, and Coal; and the Ministry's Office.
On the side of the high-ranking delegation from the Kingdom of Belgium were representatives of the Presidents of the Wallonia, Brussels, and Flanders regions; the Minister of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation; the Trade and Investment Counselor of the Belgian Embassy; and leaders from John Cockerill Group and The Green Solutions Company.
The year 2023 marks an important milestone, celebrating 50 years of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the Kingdom of Belgium. The cooperative and friendly relationship between Vietnam and Belgium has achieved many positive developments, demonstrated through frequent high-level delegation exchanges between the two sides in recent times and in the near future, contributing to bringing the bilateral relationship into a new stage of deeper, more substantive, and effective development, especially in trade and investment. This also affirms the importance placed on Vietnam's role and position in the Asia-Pacific region.
The signing of the MOU for cooperation in the field of green hydrogen and ammonia between John Cockerill Group and The Green Solutions Company is an event marking an important step in the strategic partnership between businesses of the two countries. It also affirms Vietnam's efforts in energy transition, developing clean energy sources, aiming towards the goal of carbon neutrality by 2050.
